We're El and Elie aka The Whispering Tree, two weirdos based in the Hudson Valley, NY. We've been making independent indie folk music for 15+ years, released 4 CDs, toured the US and Europe and even got to sing on a Pete Seeger album!

Okay, but why are you giving away free CDs?
Navigating the music scene as an independent artist is tough. The traditional approach involves investing in PR, radio, playlists, etc. all in the hopes of some mythical 'big break.' Well, after a decade of extensive touring left us burnt out and broke, we decided to take a different approach. Why not connect directly with potential fans and offer them something tangible? It's very retro. We package up a CD, send it to you, it arrives on your doorstep and you can hold it in your hands and put it in a CD player (or use it as a coaster, your call) - it just feels more REAL somehow.
Because despite the challenges, music is magic. Music can reach us in a way not much else can. Music is connection... and we need more of that in our lives. So here we are, sending free CDs to strangers on the internet 😉
